Collagen Blueberry Icy Poles

Age Appropropriate: 6 months

This is a great first food for a baby, filled with healthy fats, vitamin C, fibre, protein, and amino acids.

For young babies, you could half the recipe, place it in ice cube trays, and then pop it into a baby food holder.

I like the Haakaa Brand - Fresh food Feeder and Cover Set.

You can also find some great low-tox silicon moulds for older kids and mummies on Amazon.

Ingredients

  • 1 can 400ml coconut cream - I use Ayam

  • 1 Teaspoon vanilla bean paste

  • 250g frozen blueberries - organic if possible

  • Option to add 2 Tbs grass-fed Bovine Collagen Powder

  • 2 Tablespoon maple syrup - Omit for babies between 6-12 months.

Method

  1.  Blend all ingredients except for the blueberries. Once combined, add the blueberries and leave them whole, give them another quick blitz to create a swirl effect or blitz until completely combined. The kids will love them either way.

  2. Pour liquid into moulds. Be sure to leave some room at the top, as the liquid will freeze and expand.

  3. Place in the freezer for 5-6 hours.

  4. Once frozen, if you are using moulds, allow them to sit on the kitchen bench for 10-20 minutes so you can remove from the moulds easily.

    Mumma and bubbas, enjoy!
